Academic programmes in hybrid education mode (online + distance) enable students to learn from experts from a place of their comfort, expand their knowledge of the law and earn a degree/diploma for their professional advancement.

Any candidate who has an undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university is eligible to apply.

In the event of non-availability of a degree certificate, a provisional passing certificate issued by the University, a passing certificate issued by the Principal/Vice-Chancellor of the University or attested copies of the marks sheets in respect of all the years of the Graduate study should be furnished.

There is no restriction with regard to the age of the candidate. Our cohorts are heterogeneous and made up of students from all ages. Students who do not have an undergraduate degree can apply with a degree certificate or its equivalent from any UGC-recognized University/Association of Indian Universities. Students with a certification as a CA, CS, ICWA are also eligible to apply.

Typically, the Academic Year of PACE, NLSIU progresses from July to June each year.

The admission notification will be notified on the University website. Admissions are usually completed by the end of July each year. However, at the discretion of the Vice Chancellor candidates may be admitted up to 15th August on payment of a late fee of Rs. 500/-

As per the University rules, the programme fee cannot be paid in installments. The prescribed fee for each programme has to be paid at the time of registration/admission.

No. The Bar Council of India has prescribed an LL.B. degree completed in a regular (in-person mode) as a requisite to practice Law in Court.

Students will have access to carefully crafted study material by NLS faculty. The material is designed to facilitate self-learning and follows a lucid pedagogical approach for students to understand different facets of the law.

All admitted students will receive a digital pack of the programme study material. In addition to this, students will also have access to recordings of all the class lectures.

Candidates are permitted to register for more than one programme simultaneously, by submitting a separate application for each programme. In case of an examination or class schedule conflict wherein two programmes have an examination at the same time, candidates will be required to choose to take the class/examination for one of the programmes. The examination for the other programme can be attempted in the next examination cycle.

Please submit self-attested soft copies of your final transcripts with an explanation about your situation to the application portal. We can admit you provisionally. Your admission confirmation is conditional to you passing your final Undergraduate exam and successfully getting an undergraduate degree.

Yes. Students are required to submit a copy of the Undergraduate degree certificate attested by any Gazetted Officer or notarized by a notary. (Self-attestation norms, however, will require producing the original documents at the final stage. As in the case here you do not produce the original, attestation from a gazetted officer or a notary is required).

Applications will be considered complete only after the supporting documents (see checklist provided in the application form instructions) are received by the University in support of the application. Application along with supporting documents should reach the University by the application deadline.

Once the admissions process is complete and your admission is approved, you will receive an email on your registered email id providing login credentials and Student Identity Number.

The Student Identity Number shall be quoted in all your future correspondences with the University.

As per the University rules, the fee (if paid) will be refunded after deducting 30% of the amount toward processing charges if withdrawal is requested before the deadline to submit applications. The application fee of Rs. 2,000 and Admission fee of Rs. 3,000 are non-refundable. Beyond the application deadline, we will be unable to refund the fee paid towards the programme to be refunded.

A change in programme is not permitted once the admission formalities are complete.

The PACE is focused on delivering quality programmes. We do not facilitate any placements. However, we intend to create a network of the PACE scholars to connect with each other.

Typically, all our classes are two hours each.

It is not mandatory for students to attend the live classes, However, students are expected to go through all the class recordings for understanding the concepts discussed. Assessments may rely on class discussions.

All students will have access to an annual schedule of classes with specific dates and times. The schedule is fixed and unlikely to change unless there is an emergency.

Students have the option of taking exams for all the courses or some of the courses in a programme during the scheduled assessment cycles. The assessments for the remaining courses in a programme may be attempted when the next cycle of examinations is held.

Students are welcome to use the library when they visit campus in-person and browse the books for reference using the Student Identity Card issued by the University. Students can also write to our library team at a specific email address provided to request for specific books/learning materials.

Please note, our online databases are IP based. These databases cannot be accessed outside NLS campus.

MBL Programme:

Students can complete their programme in up to eight years from the year of their enrolment.

Students are required to pay the prescribed fee at the time of admission. If a student has to continue the programme beyond the second academic year because of  non-fulfilment of the prescribed requirements for the award of the degree, they will be permitted to continue for the subsequent three academic years or until the time when all programme requirements are completed whichever is earlier by paying a continuation fee as prescribed for each year.

After five years, if the student is still not able to clear the programme they may be given an extension of another 3 years by paying Rs. 6,000 per year for the subsequent three years as extension fee,  provided they have cleared at least a total of five courses out of ten in the MBL programme. At the end of the eighth academic year, if the student is unable fulfil all the requirements for the award of the degree, the admission stands automatically cancelled.

Diploma Programmes:

Students can complete their programme in up to five years from the year of their enrolment.

Students are required to pay the prescribed fee at the time of admission. If a student has to continue the programme beyond one academic year because of non-fulfilment of the prescribed requirements for the award of the diploma, they will be permitted to continue for the subsequent two academic years by paying a continuation fee as prescribed for each year.

After a period of three years, if the student is unable to clear the programme they may be given an extension of another 2 yrs by paying Rs. 6,000 per year for the subsequent two years as extension fee,  provided they have cleared 2 out of the 4 courses in a Diploma programme. At the end of the fifth academic year, if the student is unable to complete the requirements for the award of the diploma, the admission stands automatically cancelled.

Every course shall have a combination of formative and summative assessments. This will aid in regular learning and understanding concepts better. Please note the following details regarding the upcoming assessments: Assessment Details:

To successfully complete a programme, a student must take all three assessments (Formative I + Formative II + Summative) and obtain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of three and above out of seven. An aggregate of your performance will count towards the final grade in each course.
