Sanjay Shedge
Consumer Law & Practice (PGDCLP) | 2020-21

“I work for an US MNC and take care of after sales operations for 21 countries. While I am an engineer with management education, considering my job profile, I was looking for a course which could give me legal knowledge of customer service and I was very particular about the institute.

I decided to go ahead with National Law School of India University, Bangalore. While I was sure of the good name and teaching quality of this institute, I was not very sure about it for distance education but I decided to go ahead.  Let me say… my decision was perfect…

As students, we not only got theoretical but also a lot of practical knowledge of this field. Many live cases were discussed in detail and the teaching pace was just perfect, difficult topics were discussed repeatedly, extra classes were arranged for us.

All the faculty were excellent… They took a lot of interest in conducting classes and giving us this knowledge.  I personally never had a feeling of ‘distance’. I am very thankful to them.”

Sagarika Mohanty
Business Laws (MBL) | 2020-21

“I work as AGM(Engg) in NTPC, a Maharatna Public sector company. Being a technical person, I never had an inkling that I would take a course in MBL. Of course, I am very interested in Energy Law and market mechanisms in electricity sector and in one of the paper advertisements saw the course offered by NLSIU.

I grabbed the opportunity to learn something and simultaneously to create conducive atmosphere of learning at home. The weekend classes were a boon to me as I could attend all the lectures. Though I am above 50, not a single class was boring or dull, and each faculty had a unique, gripping style of teaching.”

Business Laws (MBL) | 2020-21

“The e-lectures conducted through VC were very convenient especially for a working student like me from Mumbai who had no scope to attend physical classes in B’lore.
The professors covered the course excellently with their well researched lectures.
The online exams were an excellent idea. They prevented the anxiety of how to appear for the exams and also helped in avoiding loss of scheduled exams twice a year.
The Admin Team has been very helpful and cooperative.”

Cyber Law & Cyber Forensics (PGDCLCF) | 2020-21

“I am neither from law background nor a software professional, though I have layman knowledge of both fields. I found the course to be well-structured and with very good content. The professors held classes that were highly interactive, up-to-date and informative.

For me, the best part about the PGDCLCF was that it gave me an overall idea about all fields of law since IT touches every aspect of our lives. While I had limited time, the hybrid model of teaching ensured that people like me, who are unlikely to attend contact classes, get a holistic classroom experience while studying at a distant location.”

Anu Ghosh
Cyber Law & Cyber Forensics (PGDCLCF) | 2020-21

“I have juggled my formal education alongside my career commitments since 1994. The last course I did online was in Digital Transformation from UC Berkeley – Haas School of Business

As I was searching for courses to enhance my knowledge of Info Tech laws, I came across the NLSIU PGCLCF syllabus. It is a great mix of fundamentals of law, application of laws and how technology is governed by these laws. My place of pride is my Dissertation on a  new topic combining Tech, Law & Insurance. I could complete it owing to the critical thinking skills and application of knowledge that we were encouraged to practice during our lessons.

The programme was reasonably spaced out allowing working professionals to decide when and which exam they would like to give. The online classes were a life-saver for those of us who couldn’t access the  Bangalore campus for contact classes. Many of us were not from the legal field hence teachers were mindful of beginning from basics, explaining the evolution and current application.

The faculty are the most knowledgeable and supportive teachers especially when it comes to imparting online classes. Teaching in the brave new world requires a hybrid model for teaching, learning, sharing and interacting. Professors had clear lesson plans for each session. These were detailed and painstakingly covered every aspect of the syllabus in a concise manner, and they answered all our questions patiently and provided additional reading reference and supplementary pre-reading material as well.

The launch of the LMS was a fantastic enabler – we could watch & listen to the class recording, access the material online if we missed a lecture or wanted to revise. The Administrative staff was very professional, helpful, courteous and went out of their way to help with exam day panic attacks of the students.

It was the wonderful faculty, quality of educational material, mixed medium teaching methodology, the network we built within the students, the professional attitude of the staff and efficient student support that takes the NLSIU course several notches higher than other law schools. I would recommend the PGCLCF to anyone (with or without law background) who wants to not only understand in depth but also stay ahead in this increasingly digitally dependent world.”
